Food production services
HLI has farms spread out in the busoga region in Uganda focused in Jinja, Kamuli and Luuka districts ensuring a localized but high quality production of crops. While primarily doing this, the HLI partners with like farmers with a soft spot for struggling small scale holder farmers to support them with key farming practices that increase the quality and quantity of their yield.
Post Harvest management and storage
We also set up storage units in these places with facilities to accommodate all stages of the post harvest management. This is also done with like farmers to ensure that quality and quantity is not lost post harvest. With maximization of income in mind without compromising on quality, the HLI works to ensure that its stores can accommodate its produce but as well and most importantly offer great market to the small scale holder farmers in these store locations.
Trade and business
After maximizing value for money, the HLI invests in tools such as market information systems to ensure best value and wholesale partnerships realized to extend best quality grain but at fair prices. It is our policy to prioritize local community markets in order not to drain all food from places its grown.
